Her second album ‘Halcyon’ debuted just yesterday and we are super excited to listen to it, while preparing ourselves for more of her songs to loop in our heads!

She still looks absolutely amazing and with their new album, Push and Shove, and tour coming out this year, there’s going to be more Gwen Stefani in our lives! Not complaining here!

Emmys 2012

This year’s Emmys was a night full of red carpet glamour and today’s biggest television stars. With all of those big stars and personalities in one place, we were excited to see what craziness and memorable moments were going to occur. Moments like Tracy Morgan passing out onstage to Amy Poehler and Julia Louis-Dreyfus “accidentally” switching their acceptance speeches, and Sofia Vergara’s wardrobe malfunction just minutes before going on! But don’t worry, these were only skits. Well, except for Sofia Vergara’s incident. That was real, but she took it like a trooper and we loved that she posted it on Twitter to laugh it off.

The night’s biggest winners were the new cable drama ‘Homeland’ and of course, the hit comedy ‘Modern Family’. There were also various wins from other popular shows like ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Two and a Half Men”. So many good shows and so little time to watch them!

We wanted to share our mania for some of the dresses at NYFW right now. We have been “goo goo ga ga” over it and wanted everyone to take part in our recent obsessions that have us practically drooling. Seriously….

Bradgley Mischka

Almost every look is surreal and they remind us of a modern day, working girl fairy. As always, the eveningwear was stunning, we look forward to seeing on the red carpet come awards season, and impeccable craftsmanship. The color story is complete perfection. We can’t get over it. Really can’t.

Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera is a strong favorite at Particle because she consistently reinforces old school femininity and glamour and turns out beautiful collections filled with beautiful pieces, that we could never stop obsessing over. The collection left a little room for with the pops of neon orange and yellow in all the looks.

Diane Von Furstenberg

The use of color blocking was executed so well in this Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The looks had beautiful vivid hues such as turquoise, blue, yellow, bright peach, soft orange, pale blue and metallic. Two words to describe the collection are soft and flowing. We just love it!

Divine Fits at Hollywood Forever Cemetery's Masonic Hall

Particle went to see the “indie supergroup” Divine Fits last night for their record release show at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Then sped off to arrange their after party at the, always fun, Harvard & Stone. The band consists of Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Wolf Parade’s Dan Boeckner and Sam Brown of the Ohio punk band New Bomb Turks. The LA Times describes their album as “you can hear the pleasure Daniel’s taking from the freewheeling sound of “A Thing Called Divine Fits,” which further destabilizes Spoon’s solid-state groove; it’s basically a kind of haunted goth-garage record, complete with an affectionate cover of “Shivers” by Nick Cave’s first band, the Boys Next Door.“ Divine Fits’ debut album, “A Thing Called Divine Fits,” hit the stores today.

GenArt Film Festival 2012

GenArt is having their annual Film Festival in New York August 8-14. And guess who will be there working and rocking? The Particle Arts team. GenArt is one of our dearest clients and we are so excited to work this amazing event with them.

Ok, so this is the breakdown of the festival. 7 premiers, 7 parties. 7 short films, 7 features. One short film, one feature premiere, per night. Each short film shares the red carpet experience and is presented in front of that night’s feature which we think is pretty neat. And then comes the after party.

We are so excited to finally get to see these amazing films premiere. We’ve been eating and breathing this festival for weeks and now we get to experience it and meet some pretty awesome people.

We will be updating and posting pictures of the event from New York. So be on the look out!

The New Influencers!

It is not news that Style Bloggers have literally take over the world. They are the new obsession. The new influencers, inspirations, muses, and even the new models. They have become the new “it girls/guys”. What every teenage and 20 something girl aspires to be. Filling the front rows at Fashion Week around the globe, being invited to elite fashion events, collaborating with top designers, walking the red carpets, being awarded for their fabulous blogs and personal style. They are living the fashionista dream.

But what makes for a successful Style Blog? Originality for once. Independence, the ability to relate to their readers, identity, having a voice.

eBay's Holiday Collection

This is great news for all of us Fashionistas on a budget. eBay is teaming up with some of fashion favorite young designers for their Holiday Collection. Chris Benz, Billy Reid, Jonathan Adler, Steven Alan, and Dana Lorenz of Fallon to name a few.

Everything from designed clothes, home decor, accessories, and travel goods will be available starting November 12. The price range for the collection is said to be $50 - $100.

Lana Del Rey New Face Of H&M

I got some really exciting news for us Lana Del Rey and H&M fans. It’s been confirmed by H&M, that Lana Del Rey will be the face of their Fall/Winter ad campaign. With her haunting voice, dramatic physical features, and controversial allure, Lana Del Rey was bred for fashion editorials. Though this is Lana’s first modeling gig, it isn’t her first play into fashion. Mulberry named a bag after her, “The Del Rey” which became and instant hit. She is currently signed with NEXT model’s talent division. And also landed the cover of Vogue UK back in March.

There will also be a short film of the singer performing a “Blue Velvet” cover set for its debut on September 19 on hm.com.

So stay tuned. I have a feeling this is going to be amazing. What do you guys think?

Remembering Amy Winehouse

Today marks Amy Winehouse’s 1 year since her death. It was the morning of July 23rd, year 2011, when at around 10:00AM the super talented 27 year-old Amy Winehouse was found by her bodyguard at her Camden, London home.

Though Amy Winehouse battled a lot of demons, one of them being her binge drinking after kicking a drug problem in 2008. Which lead to her death on July 23rd 2011. We shouldn’t remember her for her faults and flaws. But for how gifted she was and how her music makes us feel.

I remember first listening to her music, and thinking how refreshing her style of music was. In a time where Pop was ruling the Music world. There came this tattooed up, bee-hived unique voice, with dark, honest, personal lyrics, and a jazzy sound. She rocked my world and I became an instant fan. Though I’ve never been to rehab, her song “Rehab” was my anthem. I was a misunderstood teenager, and people were always giving their opinions on what I should do with my life and which choices to make, and like Amy, I said “NO! NO! NO!”. When I was going through this “boy crazy, heart breaker” phase “You know I’m no good” was the song I sang.

On February 10th, 2008. I’m sitting in my living room watching the Grammy’s with friends. Amy Winehouse is nominated for 3 awards. Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best Female Vocal Performance for “Rehab” and her album “Back To Black” was nominated for Album Of The Year. She takes them all. No surprise to me of course. But everybody else in that room refused to share my excitement. People were upset that she won because of her drug and alcohol problems. Her personal life and issues became very public that year and it casted a really dark shadow over her music. People couldn’t see passed it. For days all you heard on tv and the radio was people saying “Why is she being awarded for being a druggie and an alcoholic”. When the truth is, she wasn’t being awarded for her problems, she was being awarded for her gift, her talent and how amazing her music was and still is.

So this post is for all of us Amy Winehouse fans. Who supported her career, loved and enjoyed her music, cheered her on through her stints in rehab, and cried in disbelief at the news of her passing. To us Amy Winehouse is immortal, because she’ll live forever through her music.

The Dark Knight Rises!

If you were wondering what to do this Friday night, why not a movie date! To see what has to be the most talked about movie this year. The Dark Knight Rises. The third installment of Christopher and Jonathan Nolan’s Batman film series premiering today Friday, July 20th.

In The Dark Knight Rises, eight years have passed since the events of The Dark Knight. And a new villain is introduced, Bane, played by Tom Hardy. Bane is an escaped convict from an island prison in South America and a super-villain/assassin with abnormal strength. Another character introduced in this installment, and whom I am most excited to see is Selena Kyle, Catwoman, played by Anne Hathaway. Catwoman is a cat burglar with a conscience and “an associate” of Bane. Other new characters to look out for, Miranda Tate played by Marion Cotillard, and Blake played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. And returning characters we are excited to see, Bruce Wayne played by Christian Bale, Alfred by Michael Caine, James Gordon by Gary Oldman, Fox by Morgan Freeman.

The premiere of this movie has been all the buzz here today at the Particle office. And the one question that starts all debates is, “Can this third one beat or even match the success of The Dark Knight. And can Tom Hardy portrait the villain Bane as flawlessly as Heath Ledger did Joker”. I mean, how many good third movies in a franchise can people name?. The last two installments were so successful and amazing cinematic experiences. We are very confident that this one will be just as great, and we can’t wait for our 8:45PM movie date with The Dark Knight Rises on IMAX tonight.

The Perfect Marriage: Music & Fashion!

We are excited to share what we believe is the perfect marriage of music and fashion. Rihanna is digging her fabulous dagger nails into England’s fashion industry with her upcoming “street to chic” clothing line for British High Street company River Island in spring 2013. The singer has already tried her hand at design with an edition of Armani Jeans and an Emporio Armani underwear collection. It’s been said Rihanna will be designing the collection and River Island will be sharing their fashion experience with her to develop a line their fans will love.

Us Particle girls can’t wait to see the line debut. Rihanna has an enviable sense of style that resonates with every girl. She can go from chic and put together, to street and in your face. It’s style with a mood and attitude.

It's About Time! NO DOUBT!

Particle is excited to say that after a 10 year hiatus, No Doubt, has reunited to record their 6th studio album, due September 25. We’re so happy to know that the band is back together, singer Gwen Stefani, bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young.

It’s been said that the album titled Push & Shove has reggae, Jamaican street style sound and feel to it. The album also features collaborations with genius producers such as, Major Lazer and Jamaican artist Busy Signal.

No Doubt, the band whose music provided the soundtrack to much of the ’90s, just released “Settle Down,” the first single from the album. Gwen-Stefani’s rhymes and sing-along-friendly choruses are catchy as always. The single will have devoted fans reminiscing their favorite No Doubt songs like “Just a Girl” and “Spiderwebs.”

GenArt Summer Screening Series: Hit & Run

Last night Particle attended GenArt’s summer screening of ‘Hit & Run’ staring Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell, Tom Arnold and Bradley Cooper. The movie debuted at the Downtown Independent Theater in Los Angeles.

Charlie Bronson (Shepard), a former bank-robbing getaway driver, busts out of the Witness Protection Program in order to help his girlfriend (Bell) get to Los Angeles to seize a once-in-a-lifetime employment opportunity. Tipped off by his girlfriend’s former boyfriend, Charlie’s past crooked cohorts (led by Cooper) and a United States Marshal (Arnold) chase after them. The film was naughty, romantic and cunningly witty. Check this film out when the movie hits box offices August 24^th.

The GenArt Screening Series supports one of GenArt’s longest established events, the 17th Annual GenArt Film Festival. The festival will take place on August 8-14 in New York City at the School of Visual Arts Theater, and supports evolving filmmakers and talent. Particle Arts Entertainment is proud to announce that we will be helping the GenArt team produce the festival this year!

We had a great time last night and want to thank GenArt for the invitation!

A Must See Rock & Roll Exhibit Comes To The City Of Angels

The Annenberg Space for Photography’s website includes a disclaimer to visitors of the Who Shot Rock & Roll art exhibit. In bolded text it warns: “Please be aware that some of the photographs and films in Who Shot Rock & Roll contain graphic imagery and language — including drug use, nudity, profanity, sexual content, and violence.” That’s rock and roll baby!

The L.A. exhibit features 166 prints from photographers such as Dennis Hopper, Bob Gruen, Diane Arbus, Lynn Goldsmith, David LaChapelle, Ryan McGinley, and more, as well as an original and exclusive documentary that explores the unique power and role of photography, and its adventuresome camera wielders, in the creation and explosion of musical geniuses.

Photographs of John Lennon in his famed New York City cut-off tee, Dylan besieged by frenzied fans, Tupac Shakur’s noir tattoos, plus prints of Elvis, Sonic Youth, Tina Turner, Radiohead, and more will be displayed, and the effects that the iconic images have had on music, fans, and culture itself will be explored.

For a taste, watch the teaser trailer below. The show opened this past weekend and will hold residence until early October. Definitely try and check this out before then!

Shoe Design is in the Stars for Bon Iver

Justin Vernon, of Bon Iver, can now add shoe designer to his resume. We couldn’t be more thrilled.

His love for the outdoors is prominent in his music, and it’s also evident in his limited-edition shoes created with L.A. based shoe company, Keep. The Ramos-style shoe comes in a pale salmon hue with herringbone accents. Across the toes is a black fishbone detail and according to Keep’s website, the sneakers are kitten-friendly.

We think the cool sneakers will fit in just fine while wandering festival grounds. Or, if you aren’t attending the great music festivals coming up, you could at least take some pretty inspiring Instagram pics of your new laces.

The best part is, you don’t have to feel guilty about dropping 75 bucks on the star-studded sneaks, because a portion of the proceeds benefit the Best Friends Animal Society, an advocacy group which operates the nation’s largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals. Score!

The Temper Trap LA Show & After Party

When one of Particle’s favorite bands, The Temper Trap, came through Los Angeles on tour, not only did we have to go to the show, but we threw their after party!

The band played to a massive crowd at the Palladium on Friday night, and of course the show was amazing.

After the show, The Temper Trap headed to the new Smoke & Mirrors on Hollywood Boulevard for the after party. Everyone had a great time dancing to DJ sets by Paul Sevigny, Gregg Foreman (Cat Power), Myles Hendrick, and Wade Crescent. It was a super fun party — definitely one of our best yet!
